Overview

Lima Forensic Case Management (Lima) is a purpose-built forensic case management platform developed by IntaForensics, designed to support the end-to-end management of digital forensic investigations, cybercrime casework, incident response, and evidence-driven compliance workflows. The platform serves law enforcement agencies, accredited forensic laboratories, corporate security and DFIR consultancies, forensic service providers, and financial investigators.

Key features and functions include:

Chain of Custody and Exhibit Management Lima tracks exhibits and evidence items throughout the full case lifecycle, maintaining a complete, time-stamped, and auditable chain of custody record. Barcode-linked exhibits, digital uploads, and structured evidence logging support admissibility requirements and regulatory compliance.

Customizable Forensic Workflows Case workflows, evidence types, data entry forms, and process fields can be configured to align with individual organization requirements. Custom templates and role-specific procedures allow teams to adapt the platform to internal operational and accreditation standards.

Role-Based Task Automation Lima assigns scheduled tasks automatically based on defined roles — such as Asset Test Manager or Archive Verification Manager — rather than named individuals. This ensures critical compliance activities and verification tasks are completed even during periods of staff turnover or absence.

Multi-Case and Multi-Tab Working The platform supports simultaneous access to multiple case records through an enhanced multi-tab interface. Cases can be undocked into separate browser windows, and user field groups can be detached for parallel review and update without interrupting active workflows.

Lima Insight — Reporting and Analytics Lima Insight provides a reporting and analytics engine with configurable dashboards, graphs, and management information reports. Metrics include caseloads, turnaround times, staff utilization, exhibit movement, and operational performance. Available as part of the Lima Pro license tier.

Lima Portal — Remote Case Submission The Lima Portal enables external investigators or officers to submit cases and exhibits remotely for review and approval by forensic managers. A configurable priority scoring matrix automatically categorizes incoming requests by urgency based on customizable triage criteria aligned to service level agreements.
